The Client
College project — Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia tasked Graphic Design students with creating branded apparel.
The Ask
Design T-shirts, hoodies, caps, and coffee mugs that reflect the capabilities of graphic designers. The focus was on typography, creating an attractive design that represents the Graphic Design program.
The Solution
The design proposal avoided using vectors, instead utilising characters from the Pistilli-Roman typeface to create a typographic collage. The design was applied to T-shirts and extended to a typographic poster as part of the series.
My Part
I conceptualised and designed the apparel and poster, focusing on the creative use of typography to represent the Graphic Design program. The final designs showcased the potential of typeface characters in creating visually appealing and meaningful branded merchandise.
The concept
My idea was to play around with the typeface characters and create a balanced design only using its characters.
Eventually the t-shirt was printed and put up for sale.
This was an additional application I proposed.
