The Client
College project — Culinary Book Design.
The Ask
To create a cookbook featuring Colombian ingredients and dishes. I've used personal photography, created the sketches, and did all my typographical experimentation.
The Solution
I designed the book cover and chapter pages, incorporating traditional Colombian dishes and imagery. The cover featured the word "Abuela", which means grandma in Spanish language, symbolizing the warmth of homemade Colombian food, with iconic elements like black pudding, "criolla" potatoes, and a traditional village door.
My Part
I photographed and retouched images, designed the layout, and developed additional assets for culinary tools, ensuring a cohesive and authentic visual representation of Colombian cuisine.
Ideation
Innitial sketches for layout and logo, possible names too.
Flat design layouts
I wanted to convey a Latin American touch to the visuals, emphasising strong textures and colours.
Packaging
Sketches and print ready flat designs of product packaging to sell kitchenware as merchandise.
